movies that inspire

Little known fact (or well known fact depending on who you ask- hey mom!) but i'm a movie addict or maybe to clarify I am a sucker for a glass of wine, a bowl of popcorn, a really cozy throw, and my sofa while watching a movie. Whether it is the movie or the popcorn and blanket that really gets me is still up for debate. Regardless, my perfect Friday (or Monday, Tuesday, Thursday, you get the idea) sounds a lot like the scene described above. I've always been someone who finds her greatest joy and relaxation while puttering around (or lounging around!) home. Home is my happy place. ALL that said, lets get to the point, here. Movies, back to movies! So the other particular thing I have about movies is that I tend to watch a few movies over and over. Now don't get me wrong, I love a new movie every once in a while. But if we are talking a typical movie night, there is around a 99% chance that I rewatch one of "katherine's movies" as my family (lovingly?) refers to them as (maybe i've made them watch them a few too many times!). opps.

Now to the important design element of this post. {I know you thought'd we'd never get there!} It just so happens that my favorite movies tend to have fabulous settings, and most importantly great houses/great interiors. For example, "You've Got Mail"- all time favorite movie- so much so that there have been times when I've seriously considered a Meg Ryan haircut and opening a bookstore (no worries, this has not yet happened, only Meg Ryan can pull that off). But my favorite thing about this movie? (other then the sweet love story and beautiful New York in the Fall) The interiors- namely Meg Ryan's precious apartment. It is just the coziest, happiest place, and I imagine if I lived there, I might have half of the "cool" of Ms. Meg Ryan herself and constantly be surrounded by an endless supply of daisies (the happiest flower!). SO on this Wednesday, I thought i'd share some of my favorite movie interiors to be inspired by. I'm also including some movies that I don't know as well, but they are movies that Town and Country says are "20 movies to be inspired by before you decorate your house." And lets be real, when T&C says be inspired, you might as well take notice. They get it right.  Enjoy! And cheers to your popcorn and glass of wine for your movie tonight. I mean come on, its calling your (and my!) name.
